The Weekender: Holiday Fashion

Due to the fact that I did absolutely nothing exciting this weekend (unless you think watching Anchorman and finishing Allegiant is exciting), The Weekender this week will be all about my holiday style.

The Weekender: PHX to ATL

This past weekend was spent driving. Road trips can be fun, but when there's constantly bad weather, it can get a bit old. So here are some photos from my trip across the country.

The Weekender: 21st Birthday

So, I turned 21 on the 12th. There was drinking and the next day was awful. Ridiculously awful. It was made worse by the fact that I had to finish an exam.

Had my birthday dinner and drink at FEZ.

Holiday Rejuvenation

This time of year can be stressful. From exams to trying to find the perfect gift to dealing with everything that has to do with the holidays.

Priority One Jets shared this article with me a few days ago, it's all about international destinations for rejuvenation.

At a spa in Japan you can chill in a pool of coffee, green tea or wine. If those options aren't your cup of tea (pun intended), you can take a $5,000 Evian bath in Miami, a favorite of tennis champ Serena Williams. Chocolate facials are pretty big at a spa in Portugal and in Italy you can take a hay bath.

While I won't be taking any hay baths this holiday season and sadly, I won't be getting a chocolate facial, I do have some of my own tips for de-stressing.

First I light some candles. My favorite scents right now are from Bath & Body Works. After lighting the candles I start a bath.

The Weekender: Festivities

This weekend was the beginning of the holiday festivities for Thuy Lan and I. Even though we had exams to prepare for (and in my case it was Exam Week 1— curse those online classes).

Holiday Gift Guide: Beauty

It's that time of year again. The holidays are here and our bank accounts hate us. The holidays are an especially busy time for my family as pretty much everyone's birthday is around this time. Thankfully my family has been good about celebrating all of the birthdays, it's more difficult with friends because my birthday is during exam week every single year. My brother's birthday is Christmas day and my mom's is a couple of days after the new year.

Combination gifts are inevitable for my family. So is getting birthday presents in Christmas wrapping paper. Oh the struggles of being born during the holiday season. Thankfully, my mom always makes sure us kids get separate presents AND the birthday presents are in birthday paper. What a lovely lady.

The Weekender: Turkey Day Shenanigans

This has been my third year away from my family for Thanksgiving and my second year spending good ol' turkey day with my roommate, Thuy Lan.

We have this tradition of making far too much food for just two people. It's a tradition we've decided should continue down the road, even when we're 80.

Last year we had an 18 lb turkey, this year we cut back to 14 lbs. But what we lacked in turkey, we made up for with potato dishes.

The shenanigans started the day before Thanksgiving, we went to a tree lighting ceremony at a mall and there was fake snow and too many people. I never thought I would miss snow, but as all of my Facebook friends back home uploaded pretty pictures of snow covered streets, I got a bit nostalgic.
